Welcome

Hello, and thanks for visiting my telephone collection web site. What started out as a small section on my personal site years ago has somehow caught enough attention to welcome hundreds of telephone enthusiasts each month. I hope you enjoy what you find here.

When it comes to phones, I actually have two hobbies: collecting phones, and restoring them. (You can see examples of both by following the menu-based links you'll find at the top of every page.)

What's New?

In this section, I'll cover what's new on the site, for regular visitors.

How It Started

I've always been fascinated by telephones since I first took one apart when I was a kid. Throughout my childhood I'd disassemble the darned things in an effort to figure them out. I'd put them back together (and most of the time they'd work). I also made it my personal mission to ensure we had good, clean phones in our house. Remember, this was back in the pre-divestiture days, so anytime we had a ratty handset cord or the least little thing wrong with a phone, or maybe we wanted a new color, I'd be off to the local Bell System Phone Center to exchange the rented equipment.

True appreciation of phones for their aesthetic value came later on, I suppose.

As you read the information that follows, bear in mind that the factual information is often second-hand. I can't always assure its 100% accuracy. If you have better information from a reliable source, please let me know.
