WELCOME

Welcome, and thanks for stopping by. Please note that the official web site of Jeffco Airport is located at http://www.jeffcoairport.com, and is back online now.

WHY THIS SITE EXISTS

This site exists for a couple of reasons. First, Jeffco is my favorite airport. Second, the official web site was gone for a while, but is now back.

WHAT'S HERE

Here are the resources available on this site:

WHY I LIKE JEFFCO

Certainly there are other general aviation airports in Denver. The reason I like Jeffco in particular is its size. It's not too small, and not so busy that it's full of itself (which is how I'd describe Centennial Airport, for example). The airport terminal is brand new within the past few years, the airport facilities are well-maintained, an FAA tower is available from 6 to 10 daily, full services are available on-site, and you don't have to deal with Denver's Class B airspace control to get in and out of Jeffco. It's everything you want in a general aviation airport without the other things you probably don't want. Even the controllers are down-home friendly. Being at Jeffco is like being at a small-town airport, just with all the modern amenities and big city proximity.

It's also easy to get to, just off of Wadsworth Blvd. (Colorado 121) and the Boulder Turnpike (Colorado 36).

Jeffco is a great place to learn how to fly, too. Runway 11R/29L is typically reserved for touch-and-go, runway 2/20 is there to practice crosswind takeoff and landing, and there are plenty of places on-site that offer quality flying lessons.

Not a pilot? Jeffco is still a great place. Some of the best Colorado sunsets I've ever seen can be witnessed from the gate out back of the terminal building.
